Abstract
The 19F NMR comparative study of some alkali metal free ZrF 4-based fluoride glasses and selected crystalline phases belonging to the BaF 2ZrF 4 system has shown the large analogy of low-temperature spectra of fluoride glasses with that of βBaZr 2F 10. This investigation confirms the validity of the structural model proposed for the BaF 2 : 2 ZrF 4 fluorozirconate glass on the basis of the βBaZr 2F 10 structure.
