Abstract

Global competition no longer permits companies face market pressures and acquire resources by themselves without cooperating with partners. It is imperative for companies to continuously create and acquire capabilities that would help generate a sustainable competitive advantage over their rivals. Therefore, finding the way to managing an effective and fluent supply chain has become a critical strategic decision that is influenced by the capabilities needed to compete. Supply chain management requires close coordination among various departments, including R&D, manufacturing and marketing services across national boundaries. Since the early 1990s, copious numbers of studies and researches were made in details the history and trend of supply chain management researches. So much so that, the data simply surmount the demand of need. This study uses Scientometrics and Bibliometrics to collect 2,516 authors and 4,478 articles, with regards to supply chain management between the periods from 1999 to 2003 in SSCI database. This study catalogues the data to high citation articles, authors and journals, in order to understand the trend of supply chain management over the last five years.
