Abstract
ASCP, in conjunction with Market Opinion Research, Detroit, conducted this survey to determine the national average salaries and job availability of 10 medical laboratory positions. In this article, the first installment of a two-part series, the median beginning and average pay rates are reported for each position. Part II, which will appear in the March issue of Laboratory Medicine, will detail national job availability for each of the 10 positions in various regions of the United States.
