Abstract

Unmanned aircrafts systems, commonly known as “drones”, have risen in popularity in the last decade. We report a case where a young adult was brought to our A&E after suffering a nasal tip amputation due to the blades of a remote controlled drone.Generally the traumatic amputation of the nose is an unusual event that requires a prompt treatment and its management can be challenging and complex. The literature reports several cases of successful nasal replantation as a simple composite graft or with microsurgical revascularisation.
