Abstract
From 1951 to 1963, Taitung county made some excellent achievements among lawn tennis games of Taiwan Providence Games. For a shortage of the environment in Taitung, these achievements were very valuable. The players making excellent achievements were from every department and unit of Taitung County. Based on the historical method and interview, the main theme of this study was to analyze and explore how every department and unit bred up these excellent lawn tennis players and the performance of Taitung female lawn tennis players in Taiwan Providence Games. Here are the following conclusions: 1. Taitung female lawn tennis originated from Municipal Taitung Girls' Senior High School establishing Municipal Taitung Girls' Senior High School in 1940. The principle, Takahashi An Shi invited the first lieutenant instructor, Nakamura Qi Kenjiro to form a female lawn tennis team. This is the origin of the development of Taitung female lawn tennis sports. 2. In Japanese colonial period, the lawn tennis team from Municipal Taitung Girls' Senior High School won the championship in the lawn tennis games of Late Reign Nationwide Girls' Secondary School, and Yuan-Ying Lin won the singe double players championship. 3. From 1952 to 1963, The players from Taitung won the championship at exhibition game once, the championships at the match fifth times, first runner-up once and second runner-up three times in lawn tennis games of Taiwan providence. 4. The skills of lawn tennis are based on the steady training in the period of Japanese ruled. After the period of Japanese ruled, people loved the lawn tennis and followed the fashions in Taitung. Every government institution was keen on advancing the lawn tennis sports. Under this situation, Taitung female lawn tennis made the achievements and privilege.
