Abstract

Introduction: The standard of care for surgical treatment of symptomatic AC dislocations has been CC ligament reconstruction with transfer of the CA ligament. Tensioning the transferred CA ligament is a key step to achieve success. We present our results of AC joint reconstruction using the docking technique to tension the transferred CA ligament. Methods: 17 consecutive patients with either chronic, symptomatic Type III AC joint injuries or acute Type IV and V injuries were treated surgically. Minimum follow up was 12 months (mean 14, range 12-26).
