Abstract

Abnormal uterine bleeding is a common complaint among adolescents. Relief of these symptoms may be achieved with the levonorgestrel intrauterine device (IUD). Due to historically low prevalence of use, there is scant data describing the bleeding patterns associated with the levonorgestrel intrauterine device in adolescents.
