Abstract

Racism toward Asian American (AA) ethnicities is historically longstanding and continues to harm AA youth. One manifestation of racism includes the silencing and invisibility of AA experiences in the media, resulting in few examples of cultural humility. The objectives of this presentation will be to review concepts of cultural competence vs cultural humility and to identify approaches for clinicians and educators to use film as a vehicle to explore and understand cultural humility.
