Abstract

The aviation industry has grown steadily for over 40 years despite the influence of external environmental factors such as SARS and MERS. However, this growth has led to a sharp decline in air traffic and a crisis of suspension of operations when the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the COVID-19 pandemic. Although a clear plan has been implemented for the aviation industry to deal with the current situation that continues to change in the future, it has been difficult to the present. Above all, it is important to predict the exact recovery time of air demand and suggest a countermeasure, but COVID-19 is an unprecedented case, and by analyzing major research results that suggested countermeasures in various ways so far, a plan that fits the current situation was derived. First, there is a need for a plan to change the risk perception of infection during air travel, and second, a countermeasure to shorten the isolation period is needed. Third, timely government support and, finally, the need to expand and accelerate non-face-to-face aviation services through the advancement of 4th industrial technology was drawn. Therefore, based on the results of this study, it is expected that it can be usefully used to prepare an optimal response plan for the current aviation market situation.
