Abstract

This study is a descriptive survey study to identify the factors affecting academic adjustment in nursing college freshmen who have experienced distance education in the COVID-19 situation. For data analysis, SPSS/WIN 25.0 program was used, and the correlation between each variable was analyzed with Pearson's correlation coefficients, and the effect on academic adjustment was done with stepwise multiple linear regression. Adversity index, academic emotional regulation, and friend support showed positive correlation with academic adjustment, and among the general characteristics, the reason for appling for nursing department and academic emotional regulation had an effect on academic adjustment. The explanation power was 13.7%. Based on the results of this study that academic adjustment is good when applying for nursing department by oneself and when academic emotional regulation ability is high, it is necessary to identify the reason for application and develop programs tailored to each individual and non-curricular programs such as mentor-mentee activities, study club activities, etc. It is considered that an application plan for that should be prepared.
