Abstract
Introduction and aims: Excessive gestational weight gain (GWG) is a risk factor for fetal, maternal and neonatal complications, including pregnancy-induced hypertension, pre-eclampsia, hyperglycemia, macrosomia Although reasonable, the potential effect of mother’s dietary habits during pregnancy on excessive GWG remain unclear. Aim of this study was to investigate the aforementioned association in a regional sample. Methods: A cross-sectional study of 193 pregnant women of a mean age: 31.5±4.4 years old, was conducted in a private hospital in Athens, Greece.
