1848-1849 Macar Bağımsızlık Mücadelesinde Sándor Petőfi’nin Yeri ve Sekellere Dair Düşünceleri

Abstract

The Hungarian Revolution (War of Inpependence) of 1848-1849 is a national resistance initiated by the the Hungarian people, who living under the Habsburg Monarchy for long years, and especially also with the effect of the ideas put forward by the French Revolution between 1789 and 1799, revolted in the name of freedom and independence, and as a result of it they paid a heavy price and suffered greatly. But, inspite of this big struggle, it was resulted in frustration. The reflections and echoes of this can be seen not only in the stage of history, but also in the literary lines. This study dwells upon Sandor Petőfi’s role in this struggle who is considered a national poet and who holds an important place March 15, 1848 revolution in Hungary, exploring how this struggle is reflected in his poetry of this process, and how it is resonated in Hungary. But more importantly, this study analyzes Petőfi’s ideas and views in this period on the sequels which were and are still discussed regarding their origin for long in this field.
