Abstract

Transvaginal cervical length (TVCL) measurements in singleton pregnancies identify women at risk for spontaneous preterm delivery (SPTD). Current evidence supports a relationship between a short cervix (CL< 25 mm) and SPTD in twin pregnancies. The relationship between change in serial TVCL and the risk for SPTD in twin pregnancies remains poorly defined. We hypothesized that the rate of TVCL shortening is associated SPTD <34wks in twin pregnancies, regardless of initial cervical length.
