Abstract

A cross-flow wind turbine set near an edge of structure shows higher performance than in uniform flow. In addition, to improve the performance of the wind turbine above the structure, We tried to attach a Flow Deflector (FD) to the cross-flow wind turbine and performance tests were done under various setting conditions of FD. The results showed that the performance of the cross-flow wind turbine with FD was much higher than without it. In the same way, in this study, a cross-flow wind turbine in uniform flow with Dual Flow Deflector, which has two Flow Deflectors set in each symmetrical position with respect to the cross -section of the cross-flow wind turbine, was tested for the performance to research the potential of Dual Flow Deflector to improve the performance of the wind turbine in uniform flow.
