Abstract

Prenatal maternal stress (PNMS) and maternal adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) are linked to negative health outcomes in both mothers and their children. Although correlated preconception and prenatal stress are likely to influence the developing infant differently, this presentation will explore the relationship between both maternal preconception and prenatal stress and telomere length (TL), a marker of cellular stress, and cortisol reactivity and respiratory sinus arrhythmia (RSA), 2 markers of physiological stress reactivity.
