Abstract

A new type of transcutaneous Pco2 sensor has been developed. It can monitor arterial blood CO2 gas continuously. The Pco2 sensor consists of an H+-ISFET, Ag/AgCl solid reference electrode, a heater and a heat-sensitive sensor, hydrogel-containing electrolyte, a CO2 gas-permeable membrane, etc. The sensor's measurement range is 4–300 mmHg. Its sensitivity is 40 mV/Pco2 the correlation coefficient is 0.9985 and the response time is less than 2 min.
