Abstract
Every four years, since 1956, a global pilgrimage begins. Earthquake engineers from the farthest reaches of the world converge, drawn by an unspoken call beneath the grand canopy of knowledge – the World Conferences in Earthquake Engineering (WCEE). Here, they gather, under the umbrella of the International Association for Earthquake Engineering (IAEE), to stand united in their pursuit of taming the unforgiving tremors of the earth.
