Abstract
Large randomized trials to assess the benefit of post-mastectomy radiation therapy (PMRT) in the setting of systemic therapy reported findings in abstract form in 1994, and published manuscripts for premenopausal women in 1997 and postmenopausal women in 1999. No systematic study has analyzed the changing patterns of PMRT use during the period of information dissemination regarding its benefit. We sought to study the receipt of PMRT in elderly women during this period, using a population-based cohort of women with breast cancer.
