15th International Workshop on Advanced Computing and Analysis Techniques in Physics Research (ACAT2013)

Abstract

This volume of Journal of Physics: Conference Series is dedicated to scientific contributionspresented at the 15th International Workshop on Advanced Computing and Analysis Techniquesin Physics Research (ACAT 2013) which took place on 16–21 May 2013 at the Institute of HighEnergy Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China.The workshop series brings together computer science researchers and practitioners, andresearchers from particle physics and related fields to explore and confront the boundaries ofcomputing and of automatic data analysis and theoretical calculation techniques.This year's edition of the workshop brought together over 120 participants from all over theworld. 18 invited speakers presented key topics on the universe in computer, Computing inEarth Sciences, multivariate data analysis, automated computation in Quantum Field Theoryas well as computing and data analysis challenges in many fields. Over 70 other talks andposters presented state-of-the-art developments in the areas of the workshop's three tracks:Computing Technologies, Data Analysis Algorithms and Tools, and Computational Techniquesin Theoretical Physics.
