Abstract
With the aim of the remarkable improvement of tool life, in the previous research, the possibility of edge moving type of cutting method (EMT method), is examined roughly by turning of S45C steel again. From the result, the method is ascertained useful. The influence of edge moving speed and cutting speed on the wear rate and surface roughness, in the present report, is investigated by turning of S45C steel using the method. The width of flank wear becomes larger for higher edge moving speed. Low cutting speed has a bad influence on the surface roughness because the built-up edge occurs.
