Abstract
Raman spectroscopy is one of the most important experimental tools for investigating graphene. It provides rich information on its vibrational, electronic, and structural properties. In this chapter, we review the principles of Raman scattering and properties of phonons and electrons in graphene. The central part is dedicated to Raman spectroscopy of single- and bilayer graphene. We focus on perturbations that have a significant influence on graphene Raman spectra. Within this approach, distinct behavior of Raman modes of different orders is discussed.
