Abstract

Due to extensive biomedical applications, Zirconia-based nanocomposite and nanostructures' fabrication techniques have evolved continuously from simple sol-gel techniques to very sophisticated molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) and plasma spray physical vapor deposition methods. The first part of this chapter discusses various physical deposition methods and chemical deposition methods while highlighting each technique's challenges and usefulness. The second part of this chapter covers various biomedical applicability of zirconia and its derivatives. This chapter helps readers to understand the current trends in Zirconia fabrication techniques and their commercial medical applications.
