Abstract

Summary form only given. Manipulation of the temporal shape of ultrashort optical pulses is important for many applications. Here we demonstrate that degenerate type II difference frequency generation (DFG) with Fourier synthetic quasi-phase-matched (QPM) gratings can produce pulse-shaped signal at the same wavelength as the femtosecond input.
