Abstract

Artificial intelligence has become one of the important research areas in the field of computer engineering today. Especially in recent years, with the development of technology, artificial intelligence has started to show itself in many areas. In addition to these, it is seen that many studies on artificial intelligence have been carried out in many different application areas in developed countries. In this context, it is understood that many innovations related to artificial intelligence have been made, especially in the field of education. The aim of this study is to reveal the status of the use of artificial intelligence in education according to the opinions of school administrators. For this purpose, a study group was formed with 10 school administrators together in this study. Purposeful snowball sampling was done according to qualitative research methods. In the study, opinions of school administrators about the use and applications of artificial intelligence in education were taken according to open-ended semistructured questions. In this context, according to the findings obtained in the study, it can be said that school administrators are not at the desired level in artificial intelligence education practices and they are insufficient in this field. It has been observed that serious investments and in-service training courses in artificial intelligence in education are not given to school administrators and teachers. As a result, it is thought that planned training should be given for the development of school administrators on learning, smart predictions, problem-solving, knowledge management, and how artificial intelligence can be used by teachers and students within the scope of artificial intelligence applications in education.
