Abstract

The feasibility of implementing a web-based HPV vaccine education and vaccination program within middle schools was investigated. A 2010 National Immunization Survey on teen vaccine coverage showed that the national rate for 3 dose coverage by U.S. women was only 32% but was higher nationally and in New Mexico among minorities and low-income groups, reflecting federal and state funding resources available for vaccines among these groups. Our study investigated whether it was feasible to use the school system as a partner in the implementation of the intervention in the ethnically diverse state of New Mexico.
