Abstract

Homogenates obtained from fresh or freshly frozen adult human liver, fortified with uridine diphosphate N-acetylglucosamine converted 15α-hydroxyestrone and its 3-sulfate to the corresponding 15α-β-N-acetylglucosaminides. This finding stands in contrast to earlier unsuccessful attempts to demonstrate N-acetylglucosaminyl transferase activity in adult liver frozen as early as 3 hr post mortem.
