Abstract
There have been continual technological and surgical advancements in penile prostheses throughout the past 40 years, across semi-rigid, two-piece, and three-piece implant types. In biologically-born males, these technological improvements have had a tremendous impact on the quality of life in patients with ED. The use of penile prosthetics in female to male transgender surgeries is a testament to how far technological and surgical expertise has progressed. Yet there is little research which outlines the latest development of penile prosthesis technology and surgical approach in the context of surgical outcomes by prosthesis type and model.
