Abstract

With advances in immunosuppression, improvements in surgical technique, and use of extended criteria donors, patients previously considered ineligible for lung transplantation due to age are now undergoing these complex procedures with good outcomes. As the incidence of our aging population increases, we are likely to see more candidates over the age of 65 who are medically qualified for transplantation. Our study aims to quantify clinical graft outcome in terms of maximum % FEV1, the incidence and severity of PGD, and the overall survival of this patient population.
