Abstract
ABSTRACTFor complex avionic systems, evidence must be provided to demonstrate that the risk associated with the software is acceptable. It has been proposed that this evidence be obtained by conducting safety assessment in parallel with development. This increases the importance of co‐operation between teams (including development, assessment and safety authority). To facilitate this co‐operation, a traceability method is proposed, based on a set of information structures and procedures for their analysis. An application of the approach to a study based on the Slats & Flaps system for the Airbus 321 is presented.
