Abstract
During undergraduate dental education exposure to Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is, on the whole, limited to theoretical teaching and a week or two of placements. In order to recruit more trainees we must consider how we are introducing them to the speciality. A placement was designed with the aim to increase understanding of the speciality, allow application of theoretical knowledge and give an insight into the reality of working as a junior trainee in OMFS.
