Abstract
To suppress vertical vibration of railway carbody, the authors introduce a control method for the damping force generated by axle dampers. Variable coefficient dampers are installed between bogie frames and wheel sets, and the semi-active control method is applied to determine the optimal damping coefficient. The controllers are designed based on the sky-hook and the linear quadratic regulator (LQR) theories, and numerical simulations are carried out. The results show that the control method effectively reduce the power spectral density (PSD) of acceleration on the floor. This paper also refers to statistical analysis of wheel load fluctuation and vehicle running stability when the control method is applied.
