Abstract

This paper deals with the thermal stresses of an infinite elastic solid with two rigid spherical inclusions under a uniform temperature field. A body force distribution method of solution is presented for the problem by applying Green's functions for axisymmetric problems of elasticity. The problem is formulated by an integral equation with unknown body forces distributed. The distance between the inclusions is changed by their displacements. Stress distributions around the inclusion and the displacement are shown by numerical calculations.
