Abstract

Nonself HLA is stimulus for rejection. The fewer donor-recipient HLA mismatches (MM) the better the outcome. Heart transplant patients (HTxpts) are not HLA matched prospectively. Studies on HLA and 2-10y HTx outcome are contradictory. We studied long term survival of HTxpts related to total HLA-A+B+DRMM; specific locus A, B or DRMM; and identical(IDENT)vs compatible(COMP) blood group (BLD G).
