Abstract

Depressive symptoms are common among teen mothers. The purpose was to evaluate the use of two depression-screening tools, the Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale for Children (CES-DC) and the Patient Health Questionnaire Two Question Screener (PHQ-2) for predicting utilization of social work and medical services in a population of teen mothers during their child's first year of life.
