Abstract

To compare the milestone scores between emergency medicine residents who were trained while a triage physician was present in the emergency department, and those who were trained without a triage physician present. The implementation of a triage physician in an academic emergency department has called into question the impact of this position on resident education. Specifically, do orders placed by an experienced physician at triage impact educational growth of emergency medicine residents? Having recently trained residents with and without this roll present, our institution is in a unique position to gain insight regarding this question.
