Abstract

The PTT building block is consisted of 1,3-propanediol. It replaces PET in the 21 century. That’s the reason why does 1,3-propanediol become more important in these recent years. The purpose of this study were focused on separation and purification of 1,3-propanediol from the fermentation broth produced by Klsebsiella pneumonia. The concentration of 1,3-propanediol achieved was 7.13 g/L. The salting out ability become good follow increasing temperature. So separating 1,3-propanediol by salting out that discussed about effect of one salt and effect of two salts at 60oC. The sodium phosphate tribasic had the highest distribution coefficient of 1,3-propanediol was 3.722 and the recovery of 1,3-propanediol was 72% in signal-salt system. The highest distribution coefficient of 1,3-propanediol for using sodium phosphate tribasic and sodium sulfate was 2.52 and the recovery of them were 65.6% in two-salts system. 40% (w/v) So using the two salts that are sodium phosphate tribasic and 20% (w/v) sodium sulfate The distribution coefficient of 1,3-propanediol is 47.19 and the recovery of 1,3-propanediol is 92.5%. and stripping is 91.7%.. The thermodynamic theory of salting out be discussed by Eisten-Joffe equation. The salting out ability of sodium phosphate tribasic and sodium sulfate were similar with cation of two valance electric tic charges at low concentration but their salting out abilities were higher than cation of one valance electric tic charge. So choose 40% (w/v) sodium phosphate tribasic and 20% (w/v) sodium sulfate in salting out process.
