PurposeTo present both the pros and cons that may come from Google's recent effort to digitize vast collections from five large research libraries.Design/methodology/approachPresents several questions and issues relevant to libraries and suggests what impact Google Print may have in providing information.FindingsGoogle Print has great potential for broadening access to the world's written legacy.Originality/valueDigitization projects have been around for several years. As such, it is interesting to see how Google Print is both the same and different, and what benefits Google's digitization effort may hold for information professionals.
