1-(2-Oxidobenzylidene)-4-phenylthiosemicarbazonato-κ3S,N1,O](pyridine-κN)nickel(II)

Abstract

In the title complex, [Ni(C14H11N3OS)(C5H5N)], the NiII atom is N,O,S-chelated by the deprotonated salicylaldimine-4-phenyl­thio­semicarbazide dianion and is also coordinated by a pyridine mol­ecule, the coordinating atoms giving rise to a square-planar geometry for the Ni atom. The asymmetric unit contains two molecules. The mononuclear units are linked into a chain structure along the b axis by inter­molecular N—H⋯S hydrogen bonds and weak π–π stacking inter­actions between the pyridine rings [centroid–centroid = 3.758 (3) A].
