Abstract

This chapter details the microscopic and macroscopic anatomy of the peripheral and central vestibular system. The peripheral vestibular system is described in terms of its sensory receptors, the so-called hair cells, its connections with the brainstem, and the vestibular nerve afferents and efferents.
