Abstract

Conjeevaram Natarajan Annadurai was a charismatic orator, actor, literateur, and statesman, who contributed substantially to the growth and modernization of Tamil. As the chief minister of Tamil Nadu, he opposed the imposition of Hindi, favored the continuation of English, and initiated linguistic reforms to protect and nurture Tamil language and culture.
