Abstract

It has been ever considered that sizing has completely spread in resin during molding process, but its distribution has not been revealed. Dyeing of FRP that was different in amount of sizing with acid dyestuff was applied to attempt visualizing the distribution of sizing in FRP, and revealed it. In result, it was found that sizing didn't wholly spread in resin. In case amount of sizing was much, most sizing was around of fibers. FRP that contained the smallest amount of sizing had the smallest tensile strength. Because amount of sizing around fibers had effect on fracture mechanisms and made difference in tensile strength. Therefore, it was found that sizing around strands made large tensile strength of FRP.
