Abstract
The environmentally friendly electrochemical nitrogen reduction method for preparing ammonia has attracted the participation of more and more researchers. One of the current tasks is to find some nitrogen reduction reaction (NRR) catalysts with high catalytic activity and high selectivity. Noble metal-based materials have good electrochemical activity, but the scarcity of reserves limits their long-term development. Non-noble metal-based materials have shown certain NRR catalytic activity, so it is necessary to dig deeper into potential non-noble metal-based NRR catalysts to promote the development of NRR. In this chapter, we reviewed in detail the progress of nonmetal-based NRR catalysts, including non-noble metal-based metal NRR catalysts and nonmetal-based NRR catalysts. This chapter can provide researchers with creative inspiration in time and thus accelerate the industrialization of electrochemical NRR.
