Abstract
This chapter comprehensively describes the emerging flexible organic alkali-ion batteries from the perspective of materials. Especially, flexible organic electrodes, polymer electrolytes, and corresponding full batteries are summarized in detail. The chapter begins with a brief introduction about lithium and nonlithium (Na+, K+)-based rechargeable batteries. Then, smart design and construction of flexible organic electrodes including conductive polymers, carbonyl compounds, radical polymers, organosulfides, metal-organic frameworks, and covalent-organic frameworks-based anodes and cathodes are highlighted and evaluated. In addition, the synthesis and application of polymer electrolytes such as solid polymer electrolytes, gel polymer electrolytes, and inorganic-polymer hybrid electrolytes in flexible batteries are focused. Finally, the assembly of flexible full batteries like all-organic, all-solid-state, one-dimensional, and stretchable types are presented.
