Abstract

Specific Aim: To establish and implement a respiratory therapist (RT) ventilator weaning and extubation readiness protocol utilizing pressure regulated volume control (PRVC) and volume support (VS) to reduce length of mechanical ventilation (MV). Background: Many patients admitted to the PICU require MV as part of management of their critical illness.
