Abstract

The power consumption can be decreased efficiently and the standby time can be extended significantly by applying R‐LCD (Reflection Liquid Crystal Display) technology. But the consumer experience in the weak ambient light is affected badly. So, front light guide system was design to apply in the R‐LCD to lift its display performance. Firstly, front light guide system was designed to match with R‐LCD to optimize display performance. Then, by optimizing the design of single micro structure, the front light guide system was matched with different R‐LCD efficiently. Thirdly, by optimizing the density distribution of micro structure, the display uniformity of R‐LCD was improved greatly. Fourth, by add reflection angle in the PC layer, the utilization ratio of light was elevated highly. As a conclusion, the display performance can be greatly improved by applying the design method proposed, promoting the application of R‐LCD.
