Abstract

Preface11th International Conference "Aerophysics and Physical Mechanics of Classical and Quantum Systems" – APhM–2017 was held from 21 to 24 November 2017 at the Ishlinsky Institute for Problems in Mechanics of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IPMech RAS), Moscow, Russia.The aim of the Conference was to bring together leading scientists and discuss experience of new research findings, databases, computer codes, information on new instruments and methods of computational and experimental aerothermodynamics, physical experiments in the field of physical and chemical kinetics in gas dynamics, gas discharge physics, and plasma physics in the processes of combustion and explosion. This year the main scientific focus of the Conference was on high speed aerothermodynamics, and, first of all, development of numerical technology of validation of author's computer codes.The Conference work was carried out in five sections:• Computational aerothermodynamics;• Physical gasdynamics;• Magneto and radiative gas dynamics;• Physical-chemical processes and heat transfer;• Experimental aerothermodynamics.
