Abstract

The 119Sn and 13C NMR spectra of ten trivinyltin(IV) compounds in solutions of non-coordinating (deuteriochloroform, trideuterionitromethane) and coordinating (hexadeuteriodimethyl sulphoxide) solvents have been studied. From δ( 119Sn) chemical shifts and 1 J( 119Sn, 13C) coupling constants an evaluation of the coordination number of the central tin atom and the shape of coordination polyhedra around the tin atom has been carried out. Various effects on the δ( 13C) chemical shifts of both carbon atoms of the vinyl group are also discussed.
