Abstract
Emergency departments (EDs) are facing the dilemma to find the balance between the demand for clinical education and clinical workload in the age of ED crowding. However, evidence of the impact of clinical education in EDs is scarce. In order not only to accomplish the mission of teaching the postgraduate year-1 (PGY1) residents efficiently but also to maintain patient safety in ED, we introduced the computer-assisted teaching system (CATS) in our ED. We analyzed the impact of implementing CATS for PGY1 residency training on clinical efficiency in the ED.
