Abstract

Needlefree powder lidocaine delivery system has been shown to reduce venipuncture and peripheral venous cannulation pain in children when administered 1-3 minutes before a venous access procedure. The current report characterizes the tolerability of this novel system using data from the COMFORT program, the largest randomized clinical study to date on a local anesthetic in the setting of pediatric venous access pain.
