Abstract

The in-phase and 90 deg out-of-phase straining axial-torsional CC tests were conducted on thin-walled tubular specimens of 2.25Cr-1Mo steel at 823 K in air, and it was found that the effect of 90 deg out-of-phase straining on the CC test life was little. The in-phase CC test results together with the in-phase PP test results reported in the previous paper were analyzed based on the strain range partirioning concept, and the multiaxiality modified partitioned inelastic strain range versus life relationships were determined. And then it was examined whether or not the life prediction method proposed by the author for nonproportional loading can explain the observed results.
